Introducing Keegan Farr on Guitar and Vocals (06/16/2008)

As many of you who are close to the band already know, we are amidst a lineup change here at Team DeVille. Buzzo has decided he wants to take a break from the Bar Band Business, so we've recently been focusing a lot of our time and energy towards finding a suitable replacement.

We were very fortunate to have attracted the interest of Mr. Keegan Farr from Vergennes, VT. We weren't very far into our first meeting with Keegan when it became clear he was "the guy"! After our second meeting we came to a mutual agreement that this was to be the new Big Boots DeVille lineup. From then on we've had a blast getting to know Keegan, and putting together a solid night's worth of material. Keegan continues to impress the rest of us with his ability to come up to speed on our set list. He's a very talented musician, with a great heart, and a dynamite set of pipes!

Keegan will be making his Big Boots DeVille debut this Friday, 6/20 at Jasper's Tavern in Newport, VT. Those of you in the Burlington Area can catch us the following Friday, 6/27 at Franny O's. Either way, we'd like to encourage all of you to keep an eye on our calendar, and come check us out when you can. We're all very excited about what lies ahead for the band.

I must say, all this excitement is bittersweet. Bob, Chic and I have had such a great ride with Buzzo over the past two and a half years. Buzz - we'll certainly miss seeing you and rocking with you every week. Thanks for all you've done for us, and on a personal level, I am eternally grateful for all the support you have given me since I came on board back in '06 and stepped up to the mic for the first time. I am forever changed!

All the Best!

A Hot August and a Very Cool September! (09/10/2007)

Hi Everyone, the is Boots, checkin' in to share some Big Boots DeVille August highlights, as well as let you know about some great stuff we have coming up in September.

Premier Paving Bash
August kicked off with a return engagement at the Premier Paving Summer Bash in Milton, VT. Every year Premier Paving's owner Randy Howard hosts a big bash, not to be missed! This year was the second year that we've been lucky enough to be a part of it. Last year was a rainy one, but this year both the weather and the music were scortching hot! The band took the crowd, in ever increasing numbers (and energy), into the night with three well received sets. The best music to come out of a garage in years!

Banana Winds Café
The Premier Paving bash was followed up the following weekend, by a return appearance at Banana Winds in Essex. What a great little bar Banana Winds is! Proprieters Mark and Brenda Kramer are always very gracious hosts. They really seem to get into the music, and love it! We had a great time, and loved the "intimite" setting. Keep an eye on our calendar for our return to Banana Winds, and come out an join us - it's a great time!

More Pig, More Pig!
The following weekend marked our return to the pig roast circuit with our second appearance at Ken Lemire's big summer pig roast. Again, it was another fun time with a great crowd. We pulled in to the party with our trailer, right after a thunderstorm had passed through, and took the power out with it. Kenny was on top of it, and already had the generator fired up for us, but the power crews had the power back on in short order. The weather got better as the day gave way to darkness, and we rocked the house for as long as they would have us - with a few encores to boot! Thanks Kenny and Karen! You're great hosts - we had a great time and look forward to doing it again next year!

Still to Come...

Things aren't slowing down at all for Big Boots DeVille in September! This month marks our first appearance in Plattsburgh, NY - on two occassions. On September 15, we'll be at the 8-Ball Billiards Café in Plattsburgh. I stopped in to check it out, and am really excited to party at this place. They've got a nice big stage that they've just put in, a great venue for live music, complete with pool table, darts, and I think I saw some horseshoe pits outside too.

On September, 22nd Big Boots DeVille will be stomping into St. Albans, Vermont for the first time. Come check us out at Shooters Saloon, if you're up that way. I've heard great things about Shooters - that's it's a real "Rock n' Roll Friendly" atmosphere, so I bet we'll feel right at home!

Then it's back to Plattsburgh on September 29th, for our first appearance at the Krazy Horse Saloon. I'm told it's a very big club, with lots of great energy (and I've seen pictures to back that up)! They even have a mechanical bull! I bet the Skynyrd will go over great that night! We've heard nothing but good things from fellow musicians we know who have played there, so we are very much looking forward to our opportunity to shake it loose at the Krazy Horse!

I guess that's about it, please come out and party with us, we'd love to see you! We've got some new tunes worked up from Everclear, Green Day, the Stones and even an old Romantics favorite, so come out and get down!

So long for now...

Summer of '07 - Big Fun! (07/30/2007)

Hey Everyone, this is Boots, checking in, on behalf of the band... It's been a very busy summer, and I haven't been able to post updates here as much as I'd like. It doesn't appear to be slowing down any time soon, so I'd like to take a moment to post a note to report on some of what's happening so far with Big Boots DeVille in the Summer of '07. We'd also like to take this opportunity to extend a public "Thanks" to some of those who have made it so much fun. Working backwards...

July 28, Spaulding High School Class of '82, 25 Year Reunion
We had a GREAT time this past Saturday and I think the Spaulding High School Class of '82 did too! Wow! These folks know how to party! We had an unexpected guest vocalist on "Born to Be Wild" by one of the Class of 82's own "J.L". She did a great job! J.L. - I hope you weren't too sore the next day! We were even fortunate enough to have our own "Robert Palmer Girls" get up on stage with us for "Sweet Jane". We had a great time and would like to thank the Spaulding High class of '82, and the reunion organizers who made our part of it possible. We hope to see you again next reunion!

July 15, 6th annual Freedom Ride for Hospice
We were fortunate to be able to do our part in support of the Franklin County Home Health Agency by providing the music for the "after ride" party at the 6th annual Freedom Ride for Hospice. Mother Nature wasn't overy kind to us that day, as it was raining heavily at 9:00 AM - the time the riders were scheduled to be registering. That put a little damper on attendance, but those that did show up were treated to much better weather in the afternoon, a great BBQ, plenty of door prizes, and a good dose of Big Boots DeVille. The best part is, the charity aspect of the event was a complete success with over $4000 raised, with proceeds to support the Hospice Program of Franklin County Home Health Agency. We're happy to report we've been asked back to perform at next year's event tentatively scheduled for July 21, 2008.

July 3, Burlington's Independence Day Celebration
In contrast to the Freedom Ride, we were fortunate to have absolutely beautiful weather for our July 3rd appearance at the Burlington Independence Day Celebration on the Burlington Waterfront. We were set up on the boardwalk, near the boat house. We played a healthy dose of our originals mixed in with the covers, and were pleased to get some new exposure due to this being a family event. It was a great crowd, and the band had a blast. The fireworks were the best I've seen. We'd like to extend our gratitude to the Burlington Department of Parks and Recreation who made it all possible. The event was very well organized. They set up a great stage for us, and were quick to provide assistance with any issues that came up during the afternoon. We hope to see you again next July!

Thanks again to all who have made the first half of the "Summer of 2007" so much fun for the band. Please check out calendar and come see us soon!

All the Best...
